Just wanted to say Hi and that I am a dork
Just wanted to say hi and I wish Tumblr had a “love” button because I love this.

last night, the knitting factory in wburg held the listening party for the bear coat. i wasnt really sure what to expect, but 8 songs, 3 hours, 2 american honeys and 1 intriguing conversation later, i left a very happy girl. (even given the yankee loss, but it’s okay, see post below).
the bear coat is a side project for the brooklyn based duo Shane Konen & Jason Parks that is quickly taking off and its not hard to hear why. their unconventional sound is made up of 12 part harmonies mixed with electronics and playful changes in tempo. their lyrics dawn catchy phrases like “pussy repellent” and “operation stiletto”, and the best part is they dont make their music for the sake of making music. in fact, they refuse to perform until they perfect their live act. furthermore, they believe in making their concert experience more than a concert. their vision is to create an event so artistically satisfying that it would keep you on a high for months and ensure you never skipped out when they came to your town. how, you ask? a perfect combination of live music, conceptual art, and full-fledged performance, rather than hiding behind instruments and regurgitating their cd.
with songs already written for albums 2 and 3, they better start getting their show on the road so we can all start going to see them!
this was a pretty awesome way to spend a monday night, i have to say.
See this? You see this pretty, pretty piece of equipment that I have drooled over for more than a year but have never been able to stomach the $485 price tag?
GUESS WHO NOW OWNS IT?
For an utterly ridiculous fraction of the price, thanks to a very good friend :)
Oh look at that, money CAN buy happiness.
Oh weird
Another suicide at the NYU library. That never happens. Move along folks, nothing to see here.
